We will go clause by clause with practical explanations.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Think of this as your drafting cheat sheet, because in sports law, precision wins.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Let us get into it.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"drafting-a-contract\">Drafting a contract<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"background-for-the-contract\">Background for the contract<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>You are drafting a player contract for Manny M, a 24-year-old professional footballer playing as a central midfielder. He is being signed by Coastal Warriors FC, a club in the Indian Super League (ISL), for a 2-season term starting from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2027. Manny was previously with a second division team and is making his debut in a top-tier league.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The contract needs to reflect his remuneration, performance expectations, and obligations under the club, along with standard protections around injury, endorsements, disciplinary conduct, and termination.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>PLAYER CONTRACT<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-bfae4c7f0a93b5c124a1a77ae6589613\" style=\"color:#f60e0e\"><em>The introductory part acts as the foundation of the contract. This includes the \u201cby and between\u201d and \u201crecitals\u201d. Whether you are representing a club or a player, drafting these sections carefully lays a foundation for the rest of the agreement.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-68057d961a359a44023f14d85024b66b\" style=\"color:#ed0b0b\"><em>While drafting, you need to be specific. Use full names, correct addresses and official titles of the parties involved. Do not include subjective praise or promises in the recitals, you should maintain neutrality.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-07f65c88ba8575f7a5122b121002cfa1\" style=\"color:#ea0b0b\"><em>Also, stick to the facts. Recitals are not legally binding by themselves, they set up the story behind the contract. Make sure the dates, names, and roles in the recitals match those in the operative clauses (remuneration, obligations, etc).&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Contract is made and entered into on the 1st day of the month of July, 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>BY AND BETWEEN<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Coastal Warriors Football Club, a professional football club participating in the Indian Super League (ISL), having its registered office at #105, Seaside Sports Complex, Marine Drive, Kochi, Kerala &#8211; 682031,&nbsp; represented herein by its authorised signatory, Ms. Mohana Paul, General Manager &#8211; Football Operations, (hereinafter referred to as the \u201cClub\u201d duly authorised for the purpose, which expression shall, unless it be repugnant to the contect or meaning thereof, mean and include its successors, assigns, administrators and authorised representatives):&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>AND<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Mr. Manny M, son of Mr. Thomas M, aged 24 years, residing at Flat No. 302, Skyline Residency, Indranagar, Bengaluru, 560038, holding Indian nationality, and professionally engaged as a football player, currently playing as a central midfielder (hereinafter referred to as the \u201cPlayer\u201d, which expression shall unless repugnant to the context or meaning thereof include his heirs, legal representatives, executors, and permitted assigns).&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>RECITALS&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>WHEREAS, the Club is a recognised and participating football team in the Indian Super League (ISL), duly governed by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the regulations framed thereunder;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>AND WHEREAS, the Player is a professional football player, previously associated with a second division club, and now making his debut in the top-tier Indian Super League;&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>AND WHEREAS, the Club desires to engage the Player as the central midfielder in its professional squad for the upcoming ISL seasons, and the Player has agreed to render his services to the Club on the terms and conditions set forth herein;&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements contained herein, the parties hereby agree to execute this Player Contract effective from 1 July 2025 and continuing until 30 June 2027, subject to the terms and conditions more fully set forth below.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"definitions-and-interpretation\">Definitions and interpretation<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Definitions and Interpretation clause acts as the contract\u2019s dictionary. It ensures that terms used throughout the agreement carry consistent and precise meanings. Make sure to use legal clarity. Terms like &#8220;Gross Misconduct&#8221; need to cover serious issues that may lead to termination; do not leave them open to vague interpretation. Avoid repetition; if a term is used often (e.g., &#8220;Term&#8221; or &#8220;Club&#8221;), define it early to keep the rest of the contract readable.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-db72225a8b638146cbf328d519dc69a1\" style=\"color:#f80202\"><em>Do not overstuff this section. Only define terms that are used more than once or whose meaning might be debated later<\/em>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:upper-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Definitions and interpretation<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">a. In this Agreement, unless the context otherwise requires, the following terms shall have the meanings assigned to them below:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);list-style-type:lower-roman\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><em>&#8220;Agreement&#8221;<\/em> means this Player Employment Contract entered into between the Club and the Player.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><em>&#8220;Club&#8221;<\/em> means Coastal Warriors Football Club Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, having its registered office at ____.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><em>&#8220;Player&#8221;<\/em> means Mr Manny M, an Indian professional footballer, born on 4 June 2001, holding Indian passport number _____.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><em>&#8220;League&#8221;<\/em> means the Indian Super League (ISL), administered by the All India Football Federation (AIFF).<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><em>&#8220;Term&#8221;<\/em> means the duration of this Agreement, commencing from 1 July 2025 and concluding on 30 June 2027, unless earlier terminated in accordance with this Agreement.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><em>&#8220;Match&#8221;<\/em> means any competitive football match played by the Club during the League season or any other official tournament recognised by the League.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><em>&#8220;Injury&#8221;<\/em> means any physical impairment or illness suffered by the Player that prevents full participation in training or matches, as certified by a Club-approved medical practitioner.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><em>&#8220;Gross Misconduct&#8221;<\/em> includes, without limitation, match-fixing, doping violations, unauthorised absences from team activities, criminal behaviour, or conduct bringing disrepute to the Club or the League.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Words importing the singular shall include the plural and vice versa, and references to any statute shall include any modification, re-enactment or replacement thereof.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"engagement-and-term\">Engagement and term<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Engagement and Term clause is foundational to the contract because it formally establishes the relationship between the player and the club, along with the duration of that relationship.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Why is it necessary?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Duration: Clearly stating the start and end dates helps avoid confusion later on about the player\u2019s contract status.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Obligations: It sets expectations that the player is engaged for a specific role (as a professional footballer) and outlines the exclusivity of that engagement.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Extension and termination: This section introduces the possibility of contract extension, which is standard in professional sports, and sets out that this requires mutual consent in writing. This is crucial for both parties to have clarity on the pathway for future negotiations.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e5f165f6e94bebd10bf0638c7d7f8301\" style=\"color:#f20707\"><em>What to keep in mind when drafting?<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d927e12b15706cbf5cf2eb1a8d8917e7\" style=\"color:#f30505\"><em>Use simple language to ensure both the club and player clearly understand the contract\u2019s duration and renewal procedures. The clause should also make clear that the player cannot engage with other clubs or professional activities without the club&#8217;s prior written consent. This prevents conflicts of interest.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a7444ae706d366ec7b52f27609a32967\" style=\"color:#f30505\"><em>You can also provide a window for extending the term offers flexibility, but it is essential to include a reasonable notice period (in this case, three months) to allow both parties to assess their needs and intentions.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-cc9eecbd189adf9f41d0d39b39b20b97\" style=\"color:#f30505\"><em>Always ensure that any extensions are mutually agreed upon in writing this prevents any confusion or claims that a player has automatically extended their term.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>B. Engagement and term<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>The Club hereby engages the Player, and the Player agrees to be engaged by the Club, as a professional footballer for the Term of this Agreement, which shall commence on 1 July 2025 and continue until 30 June 2027, unless terminated earlier in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The Player shall be required to perform the duties set forth in Clause 3 during the Term, and the Club undertakes to provide the Player with all necessary support to carry out those duties, including access to medical and training facilities.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The parties may mutually agree to extend the Term of this Agreement in writing, subject to both parties\u2019 consent, at least three (3) months prior to the expiration of the Term.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The Player acknowledges and agrees that this Agreement is exclusive and that the Player shall not participate in any other professional football activities outside of this Agreement without prior written consent from the Club.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The Club and the Player agree that the Player shall have the right to terminate this Agreement unilaterally by means of a buy-out, subject to the payment of a fixed fee of \u20b9_____<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>In case of buy-out, the buy-out fee shall be payable in full to the Club, and upon receipt of such payment, the Player shall be released from his contractual obligations to the Club with immediate effect.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"duties-and-obligations-of-the-player\">Duties and obligations of the player<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The duties and obligations of the Player clause outline the expectations placed on the player in terms of professional conduct, performance, and participation in team activities. It sets a clear standard for what the club expects from the player and ensures that both parties understand the player\u2019s role within the organisation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Why is this essential?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Professionalism: It formalises the player\u2019s commitment to training, fitness, and match participation. This is especially important in professional sports where performance is directly linked to the team\u2019s success.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Disciplinary standards: By including clauses about professional conduct on and off the field, the club ensures the player behaves in a way that does not tarnish the club\u2019s reputation.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Injury and fitness monitoring: The player\u2019s obligation to follow medical advice and maintain fitness is crucial. Injury management and medical care are top priorities, and the player must cooperate with medical assessments and rehabilitation.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f091f5da67561c13880c8681efcb66be\" style=\"color:#f80808\"><em>When drafting this clause, you need to ensure that the obligations are not too onerous, making the contract sound like a strict set of demands. There must be room for mutual respect and recognition of the player\u2019s personal needs, such as rest and recovery time.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4e46647d7055e5163b277c18a4bfacbd\" style=\"color:#f80808\"><em>You also need to make sure that it fits with the club\u2019s values. The club should define what constitutes &#8220;professional conduct&#8221; and what actions may be considered as bringing the club into disrepute. This may vary depending on the club\u2019s image or goals.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f944a566ca9f54e74183d197581b7856\" style=\"color:#f80808\"><em>Make sure there is flexibility. While player participation in all activities is essential, there should also be provisions that allow for reasonable exceptions, such as medical leave or personal emergencies.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f0fb28daba0bce5e6e6c0e1771edf4d7\" style=\"color:#f80808\"><em>Draft this clause with careful thought to balancing the player\u2019s professional commitments with their personal well-being. Clubs must uphold high standards, but players should feel like they are treated fairly and with respect.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol start=\"3\" style=\"list-style-type:upper-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Duties and obligations of the player<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">a. The Player agrees to:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-roman\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Train and participate in all training sessions, matches, and other team activities as directed by the Club\u2019s coaching and management staff, with due diligence and in accordance with professional standards.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Follow medical advice and maintain a level of fitness required to play at the professional level. The Player shall undergo regular medical check-ups, fitness assessments, and rehabilitation when needed, as prescribed by the Club\u2019s medical team.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Play in official matches whenever selected by the Club, unless injured or unfit to play, as confirmed by the Club\u2019s medical staff.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Maintain professional conduct both on and off the field, adhering to the Club\u2019s code of conduct, training schedules, media obligations, and social media guidelines.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Comply with the Club\u2019s directions regarding participation in promotional activities, public appearances, and media engagements, provided such activities do not unreasonably interfere with the Player\u2019s training and match commitments and are limited to 5 hours per week.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Respect the confidentiality of any Club-related information that is not in the public domain, including but not limited to tactics, internal communications, financial matters, and player negotiations.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Not engage in any actions that could bring the Club into disrepute or damage its reputation, including involvement in illegal activities, unethical conduct, or behaviour detrimental to the integrity of the sport.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"remuneration-and-benefits\">Remuneration and benefits<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The remuneration and benefits clause are one of the most crucial sections of the contract. It ensures that both parties agree on the financial terms of the player\u2019s employment, including salary, bonuses, and other perks. This clause protects both the player\u2019s financial interests and the club\u2019s obligations. This is important because there is:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Clear payment structure: Outlining the base salary and any additional earnings (like match fees and performance bonuses) ensures the player knows what to expect in terms of financial compensation.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Incentives for performance: Linking part of the player\u2019s earnings to on-field performance motivates the player and aligns their personal success with the team\u2019s success.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Additional benefits: Housing, travel, and medical benefits are essential for players who may relocate for their professional career. This clause guarantees that the player has the necessary support and coverage to perform their best without worrying about day-to-day living arrangements or medical expenses.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-59ea07f9fa751e630845fda69ecd85fc\" style=\"color:#f00808\"><em>When you are drafting, ensure that the salary and bonuses are competitive within the market and consistent with industry standards for players in the same league and with similar experience. Clarity in performance-based earnings ensures the criteria (e.g., &#8220;45 minutes of play&#8221;) are specific and measurable. This avoids any ambiguity about when a bonus should be paid. Be clear on what benefits are being provided, as well as any conditions for their availability (e.g., accommodation near the training ground). The player should have a clear understanding of what the club is offering outside the monetary compensation.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-38cb3d1e4b2e9da4ab02f2ea7892fdfa\" style=\"color:#ea1111\"><em>Include a provision on taxation if the player is from outside the state or country. The Player will also be provided with transportation for official team activities, including travel to away matches.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol start=\"6\" style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>&nbsp;Medical and insurance benefits:<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">The Player will be entitled to receive all necessary medical care required for the treatment of injuries sustained during the course of employment. The Club will provide the Player with comprehensive medical insurance, including coverage for injury, disability, or death, as well as access to physiotherapy and rehabilitation services.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol start=\"7\" style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Other benefits:<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">The Player may be entitled to additional benefits at the sole discretion of the Club, including but not limited to clothing allowances, signing of endorsement deals, and access to the Club\u2019s training and wellness facilities. The specifics of such benefits will be discussed and agreed upon separately, in writing.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"confidentiality-and-publicity\">Confidentiality and publicity<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Confidentiality and Publicity clause is designed to safeguard the Club\u2019s confidential information and ensure that the Player\u2019s public image is managed in line with the Club\u2019s branding and media strategy. It also protects the integrity of the Club by controlling how both the Player and the Club engage with the public and the media.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Protecting confidential information: Football clubs often deal with sensitive internal matters, including financial data, player contract negotiations, and team strategies. Ensuring the Player keeps these matters confidential is vital to maintaining the club&#8217;s competitive edge and reputation.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Managing public relations: The Player\u2019s public image is part of the overall branding strategy of the Club. By controlling how the Player\u2019s name, image, and likeness are used, the Club can ensure its image is consistently presented in a positive and professional light.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Media management: In the age of social media, managing a player&#8217;s public statements and media interactions is critical to avoid controversies. This clause ensures that any media appearances or statements are authorised by the Club to prevent misinformation or damaging comments that could harm the Club&#8217;s brand.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b4b426a80afb401ed686605d1f86872e\" style=\"color:#f10d0d\"><em>While drafting, make sure you cover social media guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, tactical strategies, financial information, player negotiations, medical information, and any non-public information that may be shared by the Club during the course of employment.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol start=\"2\" style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Publicity and media:<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-roman\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>The Player agrees to comply with the Club\u2019s requests regarding participation in media, public appearances, and promotional activities related to the Club, provided such activities do not unreasonably interfere with the Player\u2019s professional duties.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The Player grants the Club the right to use the Player\u2019s name, image, likeness, and biographical information in connection with the promotion of the Club, its events, and its commercial ventures, without further compensation beyond the agreed-upon salary and bonuses, unless otherwise specified in a separate endorsement agreement.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The Player shall not engage in any media activity, interviews, or public statements concerning the Club, its management, or any confidential matters without prior written consent from the Club\u2019s designated representative. Any unauthorised media appearances may result in disciplinary action or termination of the Agreement.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol start=\"3\" style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Social media:<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">The Player agrees to adhere to the Club\u2019s social media guidelines and policies, as updated from time to time. The Player will avoid posting any content on social media that could negatively affect the reputation of the Club or bring it into disrepute. The Club reserves the right to monitor and address any inappropriate content posted by the Player in their public account, such as defamatory posts, content endorsing rival brands, or inflammatory remarks.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"termination\">Termination<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Termination clause is one of the most crucial parts of a player contract. It defines the conditions under which the agreement may be ended and the responsibilities of both parties once the contract ends. Termination by the club:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">The Club may terminate this Agreement with immediate effect by providing written notice to the Player in the event of any of the following:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-roman\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>The Player&#8217;s failure to fulfil their obligations under this Agreement, including but not limited to, failure to attend training, participate in matches, or comply with medical or fitness protocols.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The Player\u2019s involvement in serious misconduct, including but not limited to illegal activities, unethical behaviour, or actions that bring the Club into disrepute.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The Player\u2019s failure to meet the physical or mental fitness requirements as assessed by the Club\u2019s medical team.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>If the Player is suspended for an extended period ____ (weeks) due to a breach of the rules or disciplinary action taken by a governing body.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\">b. Termination by the player:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-roman\" class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">The Player may terminate this Agreement by providing written notice to the Club in the event of:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-roman\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>A serious or persistent failure by the Club to fulfil its obligations under this Agreement.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Any act or omission by the Club that materially undermines the Player\u2019s ability to perform their duties or adversely affects their health and wellbeing.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The Player\u2019s inability to participate in training or matches due to injury or health reasons for a period exceeding 6 months.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\">c. Termination with notice:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">Either party may terminate this Agreement by providing ___ months\u2019 written notice to the other party, without cause. In such an event, the terminating party shall compensate the other party for the remaining salary during the notice period.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol start=\"4\" style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Consequences of termination:<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">Upon termination of this Agreement, for whatever reason, the Player shall return all Club property, including training kits, equipment, and other assets. The Player\u2019s salary shall be calculated up until the date of termination, and any outstanding performance bonuses or incentives will be paid in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol start=\"5\" style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Post-termination restrictions<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">After termination of this Agreement, for a period of 6 months, the Player shall not participate in or be involved with any competing football club within ___ (insert geographical area, e.g., the country or league).
